Reviving Maratha Valor in 3D: CG Bugs Students Recreate the Iconic Mavale JireTopi

At CG Bugs School of Animation, Games, and VFX, creativity meets culture—and this time, it has given birth to something truly meaningful. In a heartfelt tribute to the fearless Mavalas who laid down their lives for Swarajya, our talented students have brought history to life through digital art.
This inspiring project was created by CG Bugs students Yogesh Mhaske ,Shahid Maniyar and Ankit Thorat, who brought the concept to life using professional 3D modeling tools and an eye for authentic historical detail.
They have created a unique 3D concept design of the Mavale JireTopi set, a powerful symbol of Maratha pride, heritage, and warrior spirit.
The Mavalas were the backbone of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s army—valiant, loyal, and courageous men who fought not for wealth, but for freedom. These unsung heroes of Swarajya have been honored through this digital creation, where tradition and technology come together in perfect harmony.
By digitally designing the JireTopi—a traditional Maratha headgear worn by Mavalas—our students have reimagined history through the lens of 3D design. The fine detailing, fabric textures, and regal color schemes reflect not just technical skill, but a deep respect for our cultural roots.
Using advanced tools such as Autodesk Maya, ZBrush,Substance Painter, and Photoshop, the students carefully modeled, sculpted, and textured the iconic JirTopi along with the traditional Mavala attire. From every fold to every stitch, the detailing reflects both precision and cultural authenticity.
But this wasn’t just about digital tools—it was about emotion, research, and passion. The team studied historical references, observed traditional attires, and ensured the look stayed true to the era of Shivaji Maharaj.
In today’s world, animation and VFX aren’t limited to entertainment—they’re powerful tools for preserving history, celebrating culture, and inspiring youth.
